For uni's first project rotation, I got told to produce a collection of knits relating too my drawings
Well i can say i have never used a knitting machine in my time of college life. I did have the opportunity to learn how to knit but i never had time to learn everything in knitting, i just knew the basics like how to caste on and off. After starting uni, the first project was knit so i had to learn more in knitting and me being me i picked up on how to knit.
Well i practiced on the domestic knitting machine, and this was my first attempt to knit.....
Then after using the domestic knitting machine, I went on the industrial knitting machines... wow they produce amazing work... well without it dropping a stitch, of course...! But we can complain as it is a mechanical machine...
Here are my very first industrial machine knits....
This one below was programmed wrong, as you can see there is a double line.
After producing those knits, i got carried away with swapping the colours around...
And turned out like this....
Then after using the 10 gauge industrial machine.
I decided to move onto the last knitting machine..... And on that machine I was in control like how to restart it back up if its stopped...
Monarch is one amazing machine that produces most wonderful pieces... I was pretty shocked when i added lycra in my work and after steaming it... it shrinks and gives texture... i loved the machine!
Heres some I produced on that machine...
This one below is the one that shrunk and gave texture...
